FUMILI minimizes the objective functions tex2html_wrap_inline100 and ML defined by:

displaymath102

and

displaymath104

with respect to the M parameters A where, for each j, tex2html_wrap_inline112 is a data-point with user estimated error, tex2html_wrap_inline114 , the tex2html_wrap_inline116 are L co-ordinates of that point and Y is a theoretical function predicting tex2html_wrap_inline122 for a given set of tex2html_wrap_inline124 and A.

The method makes use of a particular property concerning the dependence of the objective function ( tex2html_wrap_inline128 or ML) on the theoretical function (Y) for faster convergence.
